Who We See

Two Reasons People Come to Us

Most patients come to Nova for one of two reasons. Both start the same way: a 90-minute first visit with a physician and testing chosen for your history.

I.

Stay Well

For people who feel well and want to keep it that way. We look for early signs of heart disease, cancer, and metabolic decline, and plan for the decades ahead.

  • Advanced heart testing, including ApoB, Lp(a), and calcium scoring
  • Cancer screening, including the Galleri blood test when appropriate
  • VO2 max, DEXA, and strength testing
  • Hormone care for women and men in midlife
Longevity Medicine

II.

Get Well

For people with symptoms that have not been explained or resolved. We take the time to look for causes across hormones, inflammation, gut health, nutrients, and sleep.

  • Fatigue, brain fog, and poor sleep
  • Perimenopause, menopause, and low testosterone
  • Inflammation, autoimmune, and digestive conditions
  • Weight gain and insulin resistance
Functional and Integrative Medicine

Testing

Advanced Diagnostics and Screening

A physician chooses from the tests below based on your history and goals, and we order a test only when the result will change what we do. A standard cholesterol panel, for example, does not include ApoB or Lp(a), so we add them when cardiovascular risk is the question.

What We Look At

Heart and blood vessels

Tests We May Use

  • 01ApoB
  • 02Lp(a)
  • 03LDL particle number
  • 04hs-CRP
  • 05Coronary artery calcium (CAC) score
  • 06Carotid intima-media thickness (CIMT)
  • 07Echocardiography
  • 08Vascular ultrasound

Metabolic health

Tests We May Use

  • 01Fasting insulin and HOMA-IR
  • 02Continuous glucose monitoring (CGM)
  • 03Resting metabolic rate

Body composition and fitness

Tests We May Use

  • 01DEXA
  • 02InBody
  • 03VO2 max testing

Bone

Tests We May Use

  • 01EchoLight bone assessment, which uses no radiation
  • 02DEXA

Cancer screening

Tests We May Use

  • 01Coordination of mammography, colonoscopy, and skin checks
  • 02Galleri multi-cancer early detection blood test
  • 03Whole-body MRI when indicated

Hormones

Tests We May Use

  • 01Sex hormones
  • 02Full thyroid panel with antibodies
  • 03Cortisol patterns

Nutrients

Tests We May Use

  • 01Vitamin D
  • 02B12
  • 03Folate
  • 04Iron studies
  • 05Magnesium
  • 06Omega-3 index

Genomics

Tests We May Use

  • 01DNA-based testing related to nutrition and methylation

Some screening tests, including whole-body MRI and multi-cancer blood tests, can flag findings that turn out to be harmless and still lead to more testing. We talk through that tradeoff with you before we order them.

Several companies now sell large lab panels with an online dashboard, and we order many of the same tests. At Nova, a physician who knows your history reads the results with you, and that physician is responsible for what happens next.

The Practice

Our Physicians

Nova was founded by two physicians, and both of them see patients here. They share one plan for each patient, so a cardiologist and an internist look at your heart, hormones, and metabolism together. A nurse practitioner, a registered dietitian, a health coach, and our clinical staff work alongside them. Meet the team.

About Dr. Di Giorgio

Our Approach

How We Practice

Both of our physicians trained and practiced in conventional medicine, and we use it whenever it is the right tool. We add what a short office visit rarely has time for: nutrition, sleep, strength, stress, and prevention. Four ideas run through every plan we write.

I.

Muscle-First

Strength and muscle mass protect your metabolism and your bones, and they help you stay independent as you age, so every plan includes strength training.

II.

Inflammation-Aware

Chronic inflammation is involved in heart disease, dementia, and autoimmune conditions. We measure it, look for what is driving it, and treat what we find.

III.

Longevity-Driven

We weigh each recommendation by what it does for your health decades from now, as well as how you feel this year.

IV.

Whole-Person

The first visit is long so that we can ask about your sleep, your work, your stress, and your relationships, and consider them alongside your lab results.

Our Approach

Your First Visit

What to Expect as a New Patient

  1. I

    Introductory Call, 15 Minutes

  2. II

    First Visit, 90 Minutes

You meet with a physician to go through your history, symptoms, prior records, and goals.

  3. III

    Testing

  4. IV

    Results Visit and Written Plan

We go through the results and what they mean with you, and you receive your written plan, organized into five areas.

  5. V

    Ongoing Care

We repeat testing on a schedule that fits what we are tracking, and we adjust the plan as your results change.

In Practice

A Patient's Experience

A woman in early menopause came to us with new anxiety, palpitations, poor sleep, mood changes, weight gain, severe hot flashes, and brain fog that was affecting her work. She had seen several doctors, who prescribed an antidepressant and an anti-anxiety medication and told her she would feel better in about five years.

We treated her hormones and her metabolic health, corrected low vitamin D, B vitamins, and magnesium, and worked on her sleep, nutrition, and stress at the same time.

Shared with permission. Details changed to protect privacy. Individual results vary.

Membership

Some patients work with us through a single membership. It begins with a conversation with a physician about what you need, and we give you the terms and the fee in writing before you decide.

    Nadira I.Google review · January 2026

  • Dr. Knight and Dr. Di Giorgio have created a beautiful, welcoming environment. I began seeing Dr. Knight for HRT earlier this year. Her knowledge and guidance throughout these months has helped me tremendously. During the same time I saw Dr. DiGiorgio for my high cholesterol and preventative heart disease. His concern for my long term heart health left me confident that I was in good hands. As exceptional as both doctors are, so is their staff. Friendly, caring and professional. Various services offered for all your health care needs. Highly recommend this practice.

Before Your First Visit

Questions People Ask Before a First Visit

All Questions
Do you accept insurance?

We are out of network with all commercial insurance plans, and we do not participate in Medicare or Medicaid. Payment is due at the time of service. Many of our services and lab tests may be eligible for reimbursement through an HSA or FSA, so check with your benefits provider.

What happens at the first visit?

Your first visit is 90 minutes with a physician. We go through your history, symptoms, prior records, and goals, and we decide together which tests are worth running.

What is the difference between functional, integrative, and longevity medicine?

Functional medicine looks for the underlying causes of symptoms across the body's systems. Integrative medicine combines conventional treatment with evidence-based nutrition, lifestyle, and mind-body care. Longevity medicine works to lower the risk of the conditions that shorten life and limit independence: heart disease, cancer, dementia, and metabolic disease.

At Nova, the same physicians practice all three.

Will Nova replace my primary care physician?

No. We work alongside your primary care physician, who should continue to handle routine screenings, vaccinations, urgent needs, and routine prescription refills. We share results with your other doctors at your request.

Do I need to have symptoms to become a patient?

No. Many of our patients feel well and come to us for screening and a long-range prevention plan.

What does it cost?

Fees depend on the testing and care your situation calls for. We go through the costs with you on the introductory call, before you book a first visit.

We started Nova because the appointments we were trained to give were too short for the questions our patients were asking. That is why a first visit here is 90 minutes, and why the two of us work from the same plan. We both see patients in Roseland, and we would be glad to meet you.
